Municipal Court

Ault Municipal Court is a court of record.

Court is held once a month, every second Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. During court proceedings, entry is made through the east door of the Ault Police Department, 201 First Street.

If you have a Ault Municipal Court traffic ticket and the penalty assessment portion on the front of your ticket has been filled out, you may plead GUILTY and pay the ticket before your court date. Some tickets have “early settlement” offers. To take advantage of the early settlement (which may include a point reduction), you must pay the ticket within 20 days of the date you received the ticket. If you miss the early settlement option, you may still pay the ticket¬†before¬†the court date without the addition of the $20.00 Court Cost; however, the original points will be assessed against your driving record.

If the penalty assessment portion or early settlement is not filled out (for example, in most motor vehicle accident cases), payment before your court date is not an option because your appearance for arraignment is mandatory.

Municipal Court misdemeanor tickets are mandatory appearances. You must appear on the arraignment date listed on your ticket. To find out addition information, please call the Court Clerk’s Office.

The Ault Municipal Court can take payments with credit card over the phone at (970) 834-2844 and through our online services website at:

Court Sessions

Municipal Court is held the second Tuesday of every month for arraignments, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
